Running mate for McCain or Romney!

Since it is only the start of super Tuesday maybe it is too early to predict the biggest winner in the Republican primaries.

I do however believe Huckabee will be a surprise in 2-3 states where I believe he will win more delegates than the other two.

Here is my prediction: Since Huckabee is still in this contest, he will take away part of the conservative vote propelling McCain to the nomination. I voted early for Huckabee here in Tennessee!

If McCain wins the nomination, he is going to need a conservative running mate to pick up the conservative evangelical vote in the general election. Who better for him than Huckabee? I personally would rather see either Huckabee(my first choice) or Romney(my second choice) in as the nominee but that may not happen!

Who else would be a good running mate for either McCain or Romney?

Charlie Crist in Florida. He is governor of Florida with 95% approval rating. There was talk of it when Crist endorsed McCain in Florida for the primaries, we shall see.

Mike: The McCain camp just called and wanted to thank you for giving him the Republican nomination. Don't believe me? After the first vote Romney had 41% of the vote in West Virginia. Then the McCain voters that were told by his camp to put there support towards Huckabee so Romney couldn't win. McCain's camp knows Huckabee is no threat and is willing to give him a state to keep Romney from getting it.

Matt,

I am one of those right wing evangelicals who just had to vote his conscience!

Mike,

I do respect your vote. I really do. If Huckabee was in the national hunt I would be telling people to vote for Huckabee. Romney is not my absolute ideal candidate. Do I wish he was Christian? Yes, but he has a lot in common with evangelicals. He is pro-life and voted that way on every issue as Governor, he is anti gay marriage and supports a constitutional amendment, he is against funding for embryonic stem cell research and is for conservative judges.

This is not a religious vote for me. It is a outside the beltway, pro free market, pro equal trade, pro business development, lower taxes, pro conservative judges, less spending person that has a history of getting things done.

I just don't know why Huckabee is staying in the race. He is obviously hoping to get VP but I don't see that happening.

Mike... I actually think Charlie Crist would be a good choice.  Jeb Bush... no, please... even though he is different... not another Bush.
