I am by myself working and writing contracts

92ee pictureJust where are the realtors? I have been the only realtor to come in today to work. There are 8 agents that work here with 4 of these pretty much full time. I just got finished writing a contract so business continues.

I hope the realtors are not buying into all the doom and gloom because I am not. People are still changing jobs and moving, people are still getting married and buying a house together, people are still dying, babies are still being born and parents moving to bigger house, people are still growing older and downsizing, etc. etc. I will continue to get my share of the business and get the shares of the scared frightened realtors that do not get a grip.

What is going on in your office today? Anyone working?

Possible New Steel Mill in Northwest Tennessee

I live and sell real estate(residential and commercial) in Dyersburg,Tennessee. Some of the best employers for our people here in  Dyersburg are the steel mills in Arkansas(about 40 miles from Dyersburg). I just read an article that stated that another steel company(unrelated to ones across the river) is considering building a new state of the art steel mill up near  the new Cates Landing River Port (also about 40 miles from Dyersburg).

This would be hugh for Dyersburg and surrounding towns. This article stated that the unnamed company is considering four different locations for this one plant(all are located on Mississippi river). The mayor of Tiptonville stated that he expects an announcement firming up this companies' plans by January 1, 2008.

Several investors from California,Florida, and out of the country have been purchasing commercial and residential property here in the west Tennessee area. My company has listed a commercial warehouse in Tiptonville( less than 10 miles from Cates Landing. This river port is a big deal and with the new I69 coming through Dyersburg in a few years, I predict our area of Tennessee will have fantastic growth.

December and January big months for factory management relocations

Just wanted to share with my local readers and others that December and January are usually the busiest time for plants and factories to relocate in and out lower, middle and upper management people(at least in West Tennessee).

I am hearing people say that they are going to wait till spring to list their house and I keep telling them that they will miss one segment of the buyers(corporate management relocations).

I admit that these relocation companies reach deep into my pockets but I still welcome this business.

If you are a realtor that gets involved with corporate relocation, please comment on when you see the highest activity with these plants and factories relocating management people.
